‘Oh what a night’ as the great Frankie Vallie sang. Our Roaring Twenties Autumn Ball 2018, was a great success, fun, laughter and lots of dancing.
The guests were dressed in the spirit of the twenties, glamorous dresses, pearls and boas, feathers in the hair, gangster suits and machine guns at the ready, all ready for the razzle-dazzle of the evening.
Rob Falcon our MC and entertainment for the evening swiftly gathered us into the ballroom, and after a swift game of heads and tails.
Our speaker for the evening Stuart Kenyon gave a heartfelt passionate talk.
A delicious three-course meal was served by a host of friendly efficient staff, at the same time Rob travelled around the tables and creating balloon art, telling jokes and chatting to all.
The entertainment then went into full swing, James Pelham, Richard Jackson & Carly Ryan gave brilliant performances, (all on the spectrum), the audience
The evening changed dramatically, Rob got everyone up and dancing without anyone realising what was happening, one minute standing by our tables, then the conga, then on the dancefloor, as Rob had changed into a dramatic Kylie outfit standing on a chair with the audience applauding.
The joy was to see our Hub members joining in laughing and enjoying the whole experience. (The Hub members came for free)
Once again Mungo Gilchrist the photographer for the evening gave his time for free and took magnificent photographs, all available to download for free from his website. You can also find him on Facebook.
The raffle and auction raised over £2,000 in the evening!Read this blog
We’re proud to announce that we’re opening a second social hub in Prestwich, at the Phoenix Youth & Community Centre.
The Prestwich hubs will be on the second Wednesday and the last Tuesday of the month from 11 am to 3 pm.
It’s a safe space for autistic adults to socialise and make new friends, so please join us and make new friends 🙂
We offer many activities, including board games, karaoke, cooking, tennis & badminton (weather permitting!). If you don’t feel like talking, that’s fine too, we’re here for you and you can take part in as many, or as few, of the activities as you’re comfortable with.
For more information about our hubs, please visit our Stepping Stones 2 Friendship page or give us a call on 07976-896351.

We attended the Bury College’s ‘Branching Out’ networking event on 9th March at The Elizabethan Suite in Bury.
The event enabled Bury College students to meet with organisations to provide opportunities as they enter the next phase of their lives.
Here a photo from the event with Karen & Rachelle meeting with Councillor Rishi Shori who is the leader of Bury Council.
